For Intermediate and Continuing Students
Ready to Deepen Your Drawing Practice

By popular request, Academic Drawing II course begins this January 2026! This 8-session class continues right where our current course leaves off, moving into more challenging intermediate projects while expanding our materials to include charcoal.

Designed for returning students or artists with prior drawing experience, this course builds on classical academic methods with a focus on refinement, accuracy, and expressive control. We’ll explore more advanced concepts in proportion, value structure, edges, gesture, and composition and push your observational skills and technical ability to the next level.

Students will work through a series of structured studies including cast drawings, charcoal value exercises, complex still life setups, and an introduction to long-form portrait work. Each project is designed to strengthen your visual understanding while encouraging a more intentional and mature drawing approach. The class culminates in a final charcoal drawing and a supportive group critique to reflect on your growth.
